Abstract

This paper presents the results of a prospective clinical study on the comparative effectiveness of remineralizing therapy and microinvasive enamel infiltration for treating initial caries at the focal demineralization stage. The relevance of this study is driven by the high prevalence of early-form caries and the need to implement tooth-preserving technologies. The study included patients with non-cavitated lesions corresponding to ICDAS 1–2. The first group received remineralizing therapy with calcium phosphate-containing preparations, while the second group underwent enamel infiltration with a low-viscosity, light-cured polymer material. Efficacy was assessed using clinical criteria, vital staining, and laser fluorescence. It was established that infiltration provides a more rapid clinical effect and stable stabilization of demineralization, accompanied by a marked aesthetic improvement. Remineralizing therapy was characterized by gradual positive dynamics and greater dependence on patient compliance. The data obtained confirm the advantages of infiltration technology for pronounced subsurface enamel changes, whereas remineralizing therapy retains its clinical significance in the early stages of the process.
